I have combined two challenges with this card - the first being the Mothermark's Tuesday TeaParty which is being hosted by another 'Twisted Sister' this week: Forums at Splitcoaststampers
There is such a fun story along with this one - basically about bears, drums and Santa....we hve to say what we would love for Christmas or what we would NOT love...and I have combined them in this card!
Rebel the Bear decided that he was going to move in with us and show us how to L-I-V-E out loud - he brought with him something we would LOVE for Christmas and that is SNOW - especially when we have just experienced a mini heat wave and it looks like our Christmas is going to be HOT! So Rebel is living our dream - what an animal!! LOL!
The thing I personally, would like the least for Christmas is a drum, which I hear there was one in CarrollAnn's story - but dar-r-r-lings, I am married to a drummer and let me tell you - one set of drums in the house is enough, even thought my DH is a gifted player - we have a keyboard, guitar, recorder. MP3's, MP4's, CD Players...it seems that everything we have in this house makes noise - including us - so NO drums, no matter how appealing they look - NO THANK YOU!!! Anyone bringing them can 'beat it' and leave with them! (Sorry I couldn't help myself on that one! LOL)
As you can see Rebel's hat has come off - now technically he is wearing one and this qualifies him for the Saturday Spotlight with Hidden Potential where it is all about Hats: http://saturdayspotlight.blogspot.com/
This is my first card for this challenge, I have tried each week to get there...but...never made it!! So here I am...just making it in as Rebel is living up to his name and that hat is having trouble staying 'in the picture!' LOL!
Now I have to tell you this little incident I had - I read a tutorial about making your own Flowersoft - it has taken me weeks to get some poly-whatever and I had to grate it - easy enough I thought to myself - YEAH RIGHT!! Nowhere in the tutorial does it say that the stuff flies everywhere and sticks to everything - I went to pick the kidss up from school the other day looking like I had the worst scalp condition in history - what is that all about!?!? So if anyone has some helpful hints about this technique - PLEASE tell me! You will note - there is no Flowersoft used on this card - it is somewhere between my scalp and the school....the rest in is my bed and through my pillow - I am 'skeered' to do the washing!! But what can you do!?!?! LOL!
Thank you for looking and for your encouraging comments - I love it when you visit! God bless you...and watch out for stray Flowersoft - it may not be all that it seems! LOL!

Weee, he's sure having fun. That wouldn't be one of those Caribbean steel drums he repurposed would it? Afterall, you said no more drums. Ha! It's really a cute card.
When you find out more about that make your own flowersoft technique, you're going to have to let us know. Until then, can I recommend one of those sticky lint rollers.

LOL!! Sounds like my nephew's house... Your card is adorable and so fun....
When I made homemade flowersoft, I put the styrofoam balls in a large ziplock bag, closed it and then rubbed them together to "shred". Part stuck to bag but it was all in a contained area..

What a fun story and darling card to go with it. I love your festibe bear with his hat flying off as he speeds down the hill. I wouldn`t want any more noisemakers allowed in the house either! LOL And the flowersoft...thats why I buy mine so I am just no help whatsoever! TFS!

I can imagine that snow for you would be a real surprise of a special Christmas present! We have friends who are missionaries in Mozambique - one year when they were home for Christmas the kids were so thrilled that there was some snow just before they left.
LOL, I can imagine all the noise - nothing but an electric drum-kit here, but I'm with you on the keyboard, recorders, guitars. And try a sax for size when you have earache, LOL.
Love your setting for this photo, and I think the square gem/brad on the snowflake is a wonderful touch, that really caught my eye.

Wow, Linda! You certainly nailed the challenge with this wonderful card!!! Love that image of the sledding bear with his hat flying off; how fun!! Great coloring, layout and papers! I, too, like that gem in the middle of the pretty snowflake!
Here, we're all singing, "White Christmas" because Christmas comes at the beginning of winter. You must be singing, "Surfin' Safari" because it comes at the beginning of summer. The outdoor type presents are probably plentiful there!! If we do have a white Christmas this year, I'll scrapbook it and dedicate it to YOU!! LOL! Thanks for coming to the Tea Party and for being so supportive!! HUGS ~CA~

Wheeeeeeeee!!!! Oh, what fun this adorable bear is having on his snow disc! Or is that a look of sheer fright on his stoic face? Hee! Mebbe he'd like to join in on the snowball fight with Bertie. Are ya game?
Your card is darling, Linda, and your story about the drums and music made me chuckle. And I TOTALLY cracked up over your story about making your own snow. OMG! I have tears running down my face imagining you with a "scalp" condition. You look far too lovely to have a scalp condition. I did make my own snow, too, but I used a styrofoam ball and put it in a baggie.
It's so good to see you at the tea party. Everyone will just think that is snow on your dandruff-ridden shoulders, so don't worry about being embarassed. Bwaaa-haaaa-haaaa!
