Tea Pot Tuesday!!! And I get to play midweek! MrsBoz is our lovely hostess for Tea this week. Here are her requirements:
The challenge is to make a card showing the worst present you can imagine for you or anyone in your family!! OR, you can make a card showing the best present you ever received or what you or your family would like the most. You need to tell us in your description which it is and why. Have fun, everyone!!!
This brought back a flood of memories, mostly of what a tomboy I was, digging in the sandbox with my brother Mike, making cities of sand, driving our matchbox cars into dune 'garages' and squishing bugs. (yes, I did!) My lil sis Kathy was the girly-girl, she had the Mouse Tree House and Trolls. Julie, well, she was a baby, and I claimed her for my very own the day she was born. I loved playing 'mommy' with her!
One Christmas morning, (the only one I remember) I got up early and found the most delicious gift ever! A life size doll in a hairdresser's chair- and all the junk to make her beautiful! Good bye sandbox!! This was it! I think I did that doll's hair til she was bald, and then I worked on my two sisters, Kathy and Jules (and probably Mike too!) Lol!
Lulu is watercolored, and her birthday 'sign' is made using my new Spellbinder Borderbilities (Classic Lace) I found the little mirror at Michael's and it is by Blue Moon (Madame Delphine's Collection).
Thanks for looking!

What a great "girlie" card. I think that hairdressing set was the beginning of your creative genius. Gotta love that little mirror. I bet all the tea party ladies will be sneaking a look in the looking glass. Did you know the design in your bkgrd. is called Persian Pickle. I just finshed reading a book called The Persian Pickle Club and learned that fact that I just had to share with someone.

I don't think I squashed bugs much, but I do remember I went in for trying to drown the ants in their nests! Love the way Lulu is leaning on that elegant punched border- very classy looking. And the little mirror is such a great addition. Funny, I was only looking through the RR stamps the other night, I don't remember seeing her.
Thanks for letting me know about the little mermaid - your PM brightened a bad morning.

Pat, I loved your story, it brought back floods of childhood memories of me with my brothers and sisters. We each got a doll each year and I loved my trolls (still have some of them). We used to "borrow" my brother's GI Joe so Barbie had a boyfriend. Such a fabulous and beautiful card, love the colors, layout and image.

Pat, when I first glanced at this, I thought, WOW! Sexy!!! LOL! Look at that feather boa there; and the card is pink and black with a lacey border and pearls and....ROLLERS????!!! LOL! Then, I read the story about the beauty salon doll, and it all came together! How sweet that memory is, right?!! From TomBoy to girly girl with one Christmas present!! Thanks so much for coming to the Tea Party! You're the best, Sistah!!

Oh, I love your Oooo-la-la design, Miss Pat!! Nice staging with the feather boa, too. The mirror charm is a cute touch, and I love the punched border. So girlie pretty!
Hi, Pat! Bertie here. You might want to protect that purty wallpaper (dp); I hear there may be a snowball fight a-comin' soon.....Snugs

OMG Pat, this is so wonderful... I had to chuckle over the story of you doing the dolls hair until she was bald, then the sisiters and brother... I love the image, sparkle, dp, mirror and charm embellishment, and the decorative border...
