This card was one of the hardest cards I have ever made. Not because of the techniques or anything of that aspect, but because it is for my sister in law. My brother in law died suddenly this morning of a heart attack. I wanted this to be the best card ever that would convey my deepest sympathy. It is also hard to make a card while having bursts of crying.
This sketch just cried butterflies to me. This is also for the color challenge yesterday, and for Kelly's word of the week challenge Her word this week was...
parure: (derived from "parer" to prepare, adorn# a matched set of ornaments #as jewelry#
It is of French origin. For women in the 17th century it was a status symbol to have matching jewelry #example: necklace, ring, ear rings, bracelets... all matched#
I decided that the parure on my card would be my two jeweled porcelain paper butterflies. Since parure is also adornments, I tried to adorn this card with as many embellishments as I thought it could handle.
Hug the people around you today and tell them that you love them.

Oh my what a beautiful card MariLynn. Blue butterflies, those are made in my favourite colour you know. Sweet little roses too. TFS this is just so pretty.

Oh dear sweet MariLynn! I am so so sorry to hear of this terrible loss for you and your family. This card is very special and it will bring your sister-in-law comfort. Many hugs and prayers for you and your family. It is such a difficult time of year to have to lose someone.
