I have to start by saying that this bird is meant to be a Cardinal - now, as we do not have them here in Australia I am not 100 percent sure if it is, I hunted through my RAK's trying to find one and this was the closest one I had!
Have you guessed that this is for Teapot Tuesday: Forums at Splitcoaststampers
It is also for The Twisted Sister Challenge this week where we are to use leather and lace - I have used the animal skin DP and that gorgeous lace ...and have been inspired by the Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge: http://flourishesnewsletter.blogspot.com/
Where this week the lovely Silke has given us a sketch to use....so I am feeling pretty good with all of this! The colours are from CC245, I don't have the exact colours but have gone as close as I can!!
A layered flower was added to the corner of the image and Kaiser pearls added to the centre.
There you have it - very simple....I am so pleased to have it finished, I don't like being late with challenges!
Thank you for looking and for your lovely comments - you are always so encouraging!!! It is Saturday evening here and cooling down after a HOT day - I hope your day is a good one! God bless you!

So pretty - it is close enough anyway. I like how you added all the layers and extra textures - that lace is perfect!

Love those polka-dotted flowers, and the pearls and lace. It does look like a cardinal to me, except for the scale!! If that's some sort of cornus it's perched on, it must be a tiny baby cardinal, LOL. But still so sweet.

I just can't believe you can get this gawgus look by chalking!!! When I chalk it just will not do what I want! Linda, I do believe this is a Cardinal. We have them year round and they are beautiful. It is so sweet to watch a couple; he picks out the seed and feeds it to her. She's rather dowdy but he is brilliant red and fiercely protective. Even if we come out side he'll start chirping and hopping about! It's been a long time since my DH acted like that over me!!! HA! Very nicely done and you even colored the Magnolia bloom perfectly.

Linda, your cardinal is lovely! We do not have them here either, but I imagine they are as beautiful as your chalking is! We have blue birds here, and for as pretty as they are, they are quite pushy! I prefer my little finches- each one so sweet. I love that there is a magnolia, they were my mom's favorite flower. Your lace is gorgeous, and as usual, you have knocked out another beauty. Love you much.
