These are some paperclip bookmarks I made for a couple of craft fairs I'm doing. I used the tutorial under "resources" and SassiAngel's version using the glue gun (E-6000 really smells). I also added a strip of matching cardstock on the sides between the 2 scallops to hide the messy inside where the clip was glued to the paper/cardboard. I cut it about 3/16" wide and glued it with scor-tape. It gave the bookmarks a nice finished look and wasn't really that much more work.
This also shows the "packaging" I ended up using for them. It's just a bookmark sleeve (cut 1/2" off top) with a piece of cardstock cut and scored to fold over it. The backing is 7" x 2 1/4" and scored at 1". I used a glue dot to adhere the sleeve to the backing close to the bottom so it would stay in place.

I got these from Serendipitystamps.com. They're under "stuff", "clear envelopes", "bookmark sleeves" for 100 @ 4.00. You can also get them at clearbags.com.

I'm sorry...it must be a "senior moment". I can't find it either! Actually, I think I took a bunch of instructions/comments people had (SassiAngel, stampingwith roxy, SouthernStorm), the "craft sale best seller's" thread and the tutorial in the resource section and kind of did what worked for me. I tried a bunch of glues also and settled on the glue gun. I can't stand the smell of the E-6000.
Basically, what I did for each clip was: punched out 4 cardboard 1-3/8" circles (a light cardboard like the backing from the cardstock packages), I glued 2 circles together with Tombo liquid glue (do this twice for each side of the clip). I then used the gluegun to glue the clip to the circles. You need to make sure the glue is really heated up in the gun. I put a "C" shape of hot glue on one circle and then quickly placed the paperclip on the glue and then quickly added a little more glue and then quickly put the other circle on top to make a "sandwich". I then hold this together for a few seconds. The key is to do it all as quick as you can. I lined up the clip and circles in front of me and had it all ready before I glued. I did a bunch of these at a time and let them "cure" for a while before I added the scallops to them.
For the next step, I punched out 2 scallop circles and glued these on the paperclip circles (one on each side) with Tombo liquid glue and made sure they lined up together. Then I glued the circle with the finished stamped image onto one side.
Then, like I mentioned in the "Photo Details" above, I cut a 3/16" strip of matching cardstock and glued in all around the side with score-tape to hide the ugly inside. The packaging is also explained above if you need it.
I hope this all makes sense. If you have any questions, let me know
Kathy
P.s. If you haven't looked at it yet, the thread in the Forum called "craft fair best sellers" is awesome for finding fun things to make. Plan on spending a few hours on it though...it was started back in 2004 or 2005.
