I have never done the Flourishes Challenge, and I don't own any Flourishes stamps, but I loved the idea this time. Plus - heck the chance to win the stamps - woo hoo!!!
The challenge was to make a card inspired by the song lyrics "My Favorite Things".
I just got this Belles N Whistles stamp in, and in it she is singing to her stuffed animals, which my daughter does ALL the time (which is kind of why I bought the stamp :-) ). So I picked the line "Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes" as my inspiration, and it went well with this stamp.
The Blue is Copic B12, 14, 16. The ribbon is white satin ribbon technically... but I colored it with the B14. I also cut a piece of cardstock slightly larger than my image cutout and colored the edges with the blue B14 as well. Same with the piece behind the Sentiment. Then I used a bit of spica on the colored stamp image, and Pearl Glimmer Mist on the blue colored cardstock to try to make them both look satiny.
Once I colored it, I needed to find a sentiment that went with it. I thought that this one seemed appropriate. It is an Impression Obsession stamp.
The card is 5 x 7, and I cut another piece of cardstock and used the swiss dots cuttlebug folder to get the dots (although it was a little difficult since the piece was so big). I mounted the ribbon and images to it, and then mounted it to the card.
I think this is one of my favorite cards ever. It was fun and I LOVE the blue and white together.
