I have never been a fan of oriental style cards, that is until I luckily stumbled on these gorgeous set of stamps from the UK company Craftwork Cards.
There are several designs and this is the Choko set.
For a little twist I used a brad for the top "bun" part of her hairdo and instead of using the stamped image of her hairpins, I cut these away and replaced them with real pins with bobble ends, which I coloured in black permanent marker. They certainly look more authentic in the flesh but this does of course, make the card unsuitable for little ones!
As always she is embellished with my beloved stickles. Her cheeks, flowers on her dress and the flower centres on the floral panels are highlighted with cotton candy, gold & black diamond respectively.
To add the greeting along the gold ribbon I simply applied one of my collection of millions of rub ons! (I am a rub on addict!)
Choko herself has been 3D,d by raising on to sticky fixers.
I really enjoyed making this as it is something really different for me and just goes to show how interesting it can be to have a go with stamps you may not instantly be attracted to!
I hope everyone likes it and a big Thank you from across the pond for stopping by, your kindness means Sooooo much!
