Hi! This is something I have been working on for a while. Over the summer, my sil asked me to make a wall hanging for their home in Costa Rica; they will have it framed.
I started with the oriental dancer and heat embossed here about a million times using detail black ep and then I masked her. Then I brayered the sky and water, with no definition between the two. I then stamped the bamboo 4 times, reinking only once to give depth. I then sponged on Sahara sand ink behind the bamboo to give more depth.I colored in the dancer with copic markers. Then I stamped the bird and drew the platform underneath the dancer. I then stamped the goldfish. I tried to stamp some gulls but botched it, so I die cut the sun and sponged cameo coral and summer sun on it! I fiddled quite a bit with the water around the platform, sponging in sage shadow, bashful blue, white craft inks (I used both cosmetic sponges and sea sponges). I sponged creamy caramel and vanilla craft inks on the platform.
I knew what I wanted to do and the particular stamp that I wanted to start with, but putting it all together has been an extensive, rewarding but at times frustrating experience, to say the least! Over the months, I have torn up and thown out a great many pieces of cardstock, and I've used almost 1/2 of a jar of detail black ep. But I am finally pleased with the finished product, and here it is! TFL and have a blessed day!
