Joan Ervin challenged the Doubledog Dare Challenge group to case a card from the gallery of our fearless leader, artystamper (Julia). Julia started the group almost two years ago, and we rotate issuing our weekly challenge every Tuesday. As Joan wrote:
"We have been together for almost 2 years and there is one super AWESOME lady who had kept us on our toes!!! This particular lovely lady has kept up with the challenge schedule, created a database with birthdays, addresses, and much more."
I chose to case Julia's lovely Pieced Sympathy card seen here:
I was drawn to Julia's beautiful card for it's clean, simple lines and the color purple! I really like how she created the illusion of layers simply by drawing a frame around her flower with a white gel pen. I love how quickly this came together.
I paper pieced my tulips with Ridinghood Red designer paper, cut them out, and popped up only the center one. The stems were colored with a Copic marker. I used one of my rectangle Nestabilities to help me draw my frame with my black Marvy LePlume fine point marker.
Thank you, Julia, for all you do for us! You are one talented lady!
We have a challenge thread in the challenge forums and would love it if you played along with us. Just be sure to put DDC in your keywords so we can see your creations!
