So this morning in between my shower and drying my hair, I quickly check to see what the challenge was for today or what I thought was the challenge. I even went to the gallery, which was rather full and it still didn't register in my head. The dates were all wrong on the cards, plus I even saw a card I had already posted. I just figured SCS had the hick-ups again. BUT still, it didn't dawn on me that I was looking at the wrong challenge for today until I had finished the front of my card.
I went back in and found out I had in fact done the wrong challenge, but I am going to tweak the story a little so it works for today's -what's the weather- challenge. I am also putting this in the CAS challenge by putting a brad on it. If I am going down, I want to go down big time. Challenge Police, come and get me! LOL
So, in my "head" the weather would be dark as it is night time and I am camping in the Sierra's where there are some rather large stars, not snow flakes, in the sky. How's that for a tweak of the story?......briefly.....
I was inspired to do this scene from an advertisement for REI. This tent worked perfectly. Stamped it, colored with re-inkers then masked it.
Stamped the trees with the mountains in the bg, colored with re-inkers and masked.
Stamped and clear ep the large "stars". The white dots were eb with white.
Added the raccoon because you never know what is lurking outside your tent or house for that matter. DH is having problems with some potted plants. A large varmint keeps digging in them. Driving him crazy!
Sponged black soot and slate around images. Added the stamped ribbon on the edges of a white card then put my image on top after I put the brad on the tent. Well, sorry to go on and on. Hope you like my card of many challenges.....TFL :0)
Hi Sis!
Just re-read the instructions. I didn't even see the 2-2-2 part. What a disaster this is. I apologize to the Challenge Police. I promise to do better. Really!

Where did you learn to tell a story like that? Must be part of the tea party group...well, it is a fun nightime sky card, great job on the story and the card!

Who the heck cares if your card started out being for the wrong challenge. Let those cops just try to persuade you to remove this wonderful soot card, and I'll be there in a New York minute. Just you wait and see. I have no idea what soot is. Did you get that out of your 1920's oil burner? Isnt that where soot comes from or how bout your fireplace? Whatever the answer, this is sure is a fabulous crafted card. Another 3 star one today, girl.

Cathy, your card is wonderful. I loved your story!! I love your snowflake stars. I think I'll go camping with you where you are. If we go camping here, I think we better put our tents at the top of the hills so we don't wash away in our sleep. It rained here almost all week. It stopped long enough for us to have our fall festival at Church. We are a small Church of about 150 people and tonight we had 1200 kids come through our festival. Just as we were finishing cleaning up, the rain started again.... I love your little raccoon. I hope that is all we have to deal with. I hope there aren't any bears or oppossums.
I hope you have a blessed weekend.
