 | | This card is for today's Limited Supply Challenge, Starting a Card Half done. We had to use a premade card base. I did a slight cheat in that I cut my card base in half. I did this for two reason; I'm spoiled by the wonderful heavy weight CS that I usually use and find most cards flimsy, but the second reason is that the back of this card was also printed but with a different pattern than the front (you can see it peaking out behind the card in the scan) and I wanted to save it for another card. This card came from a desk set I had bought on sale two years ago. This stack of cards had been sitting in the desk set by my computer still tied with the ribbon, so when I saw the challenge last night, I just had to use them.
The challenge was to match the colors. I lucked out with the Regal Rose as that was pretty much a
perfect match. The green color was trickier. I ended up using a brayer and several colors to achieve the shade I wanted. I brayered with Summer Sun and then lightly with Kiwi Kiss. I wiped a bit of the green ink off while it was still wet and then stamped my image in Close to Cocoa ink. I lightly sponged some more Cocoa ink onto the piece and then colored the flowers with a white gel pen. I layered this onto White CS and then a Regal Rose scallop square. I wrapped a piece of ribbon around the card and layered on my square. |
