INstructions for the clipboards: I just cut coordinating strips of CS and diff sizes and fir them in. I actually put a strip of double stick tape down each side and then either glue stick or modpodge the center. [tape to hold in place while other dries]. These are 6 X 9 boards so I cut the strips in a length of 8.5 across so there is extra to bend around the edges. For the back, I bend the edges around and once again put a strip of double stick tape form top to bottom to hold the edges on. I then have a sheet of 1 color 5 across by 8 down, and adhere that with mod podge just under the hardware on the back holding the clip to the front. [I found if I tried to cover the hardware, it raised enough I feared it could rip off..make any sense??] For the pop on the actual clip, I have found over time E-6000 is the best to adhere metal to paper and KNOW it will stay. I usually stamp a design on the back piece that coordinates with the front [apples here, of course]. I have been selling this set for $15 and making a lot of profit since the clip is around $1.30, the notepad I buy in packs of 5 or 6 for $3-4, the paper clip is bought in a pack of 10 for $1, and then pen was in a pack of 5 for $2. I sold at least 20+ sets for that price point. However with current economy, I would rather sell them all so I am dropping price to $12 at my craft shows & for friends. I suppose it depends on your area of the country though what you could get for a set like this. Teacher is my top "theme" but the dog theme, skull [from retired SU cherry/skull papers], and the cherries also sell well. Being in FL, I am going to try the flamingo sets this season from current SU DSP.
TMI? Sorry! I am sure there is a more coherent tutorial out there but that is my 2 cents! Note: I use the extra pieces of CS to cover the front of the notepads, and the back is a solid piece, stamped as well. Additional leftovers, I cover jumbo clothespins "photo clips" and cover in a sealant for another teacher [or whatever theme] gift idea.
