This was a real pain to put together. But the end result is ok. I got the tree to fit on a 5 1/2" x
4 1/4" piece of cardstock by trimming a few branches. Putting the tree together was ok as long as I watched the SU video. (Had to pause it a lot). The tree still has a problem standing up straight when the card is open. Oh well have fun, I sure did............. Not a good class project!

i think you did a good job. i like the front of your card, it's very simple and it doesn't compete with the inside. i've always wanted to do this as a Christmas card ( Some Assembly Required carries a similar die) but i have to make 40 every year and i don't know if i can do all 40 of this plus i'm concerned that i will have to pay extra postage because of the added weight.

On my first try, I was thinking the same thing, but then once I figured out how it went together, it's a piece of cake! And I looked at Karen Burniston blog and saw her other projects with it and knew I couldn't give up. This definitely isn't something you want to plan on making all 40 or so of your Christmas cards with, but definitely worth the effort to make a few. I just made a tree with my pink metallic paper. When I get the entire card put together, I'll post it. Hang in there everyone...and if you're thinking about buying it...do it! You won't be sorry!

I just made one also, you did a great job! This really isn't that difficult, once you figure out how to do it the second time around! I don't think I'll use the ornament sizzlet again, it is too difficult and time consuming to die cut all those little ornaments! But using glitter or brads would be pretty. I had to laugh about your title!
TFS!

Great card! I had to laugh when I read your comment about this not being a great class project... my sister begged me to have a class using this die. Since she offered to purchase the die for the class I consented. Should be interesting. ;)
Great job! Glad you didn't give up! If anyone is interested, I am really ISO of someone who will sell me a set or two of the tree die cuts. i just want to make 1 tree and can't afford the die (sigh). anyway, if I do got to make one, I hope it turns out as cute as yours!

I did a class; but I die cut them before time. The customers had to put the tree together. If they followed directions, it was easier.
Since then I've done a Fall tree and a white tree - beautiful. I want to do a Spring tree, but will think about that in the New Year.
I also have been doing pop ups with the cake die and love it.
