I really enjoyed making this one! I am hankering after the new Martha Stewart halloween punches (very difficult to get hold of here in the UK! grrr!) I am particularly hoping to get hold of the creepy fence punch but in the meantime I had to improvise!
Being a confirmed rub-on addict and popsicle muncher (popsicles obviously, not rub-ons!) I have amassed a huge quantity of popsicle sticks and they have languished in the bottom of my crafty box that is labelled "I will keep that, you never know when it might come in handy" for ages, so my intention was to use these to make my own crooked fence!
When I came to use them though, they were slightly too wide to look effective on a card. So you can imagine my delight when I remembered that our local coffee house uses similar wooden sticks but longer and thinner! Cramming as many into my handbag as I dare whilst I got my DH to distract the staff, off I tootled home with my stash ready to "have a go!"
I just snapped them randomly then coloured them with black marker pen. The pumpkin was stamped from the "Happy Halloween" Hero Arts clear stamp set, cut out then the face, eyes and stalk were coloured with stickles glitter glues.
The bats I cut freehand from plain black card. Created their eyes & mouth using a white gel pen and for a final touch, folded their wings so they are 3D and stand proud of the page, then finished with yet more black stickles glitter glue to make them stand out even more.
The signpost was made from a long coffee stirrer, black card and a white gel pen and the moon punched with a plain old circle punch!
As I said, I had a lot of fun with this one as all the embellishments were made by me as opposed to my usual fallback of "ready made!"
Thanks so much for stopping by xx

LOVE it! I like your spooky fence even better, since it is more rickety-looking and the snapped/frayed ends look way spookier Now I have to find some place that has those thin stirrers....lol
I love the signpost and those hilarious little bat faces - too cute!

Martha Stewart's got nothing on you - this fence is amazing! So creative and well crafted! Your card is wonderful from the freehand bats to the spooky night sky and fun street sign! You are one talented lady!
