Okay, this card is for a few challenges. First, it is for today's Inspiration Challenge(IC196). I chose this pocketbook from Moyna Bags as my inspiration.
Looking at the bag with the strap going up above the top of the bag, I thought this design would work wonderfully with the new Crazy 4 Challenges that started up today. Cindy Haffner designed this wonderful sketch. Thanks for a fab sketch, Cindy!!!
This card is also for the Verve VLVSep02 weekly challenge. We are to go small this week. This card is 4 X 4 and it was hard!!! LOL!!! I usually do 5.5 squared. It was fun, but alittle cramped.
These are my thought processes for this card. First, the sketch shape looks like the bag shape. The ribbon with hardware and ribbon knot, mimics the handle and zipper pull. I used various sets of Verve stamps to create my backgrounds similar to the bag design. NOTE: No dp was used in the making of this card.
I tried to incorporate a touch of teal with the butterfly. I finished my card with just a simple oval sentiment and a couple assorted butterfly bling touches.
I do want to add that I intentionally sort of colored out of the lines of the flowers as the pocketbook made these flowers look alittle more spikey(?) or something. This is why ALL of the flowers sort of have that colored out of the lines look. Really!!!
I sponged all of my layers to try to get that warm flax linen look in the inspiration picture. So, there. My card with its not so normal color combo.

How pretty Betty! I love this layout and the images are so pretty! I love the effects you achieved... coloring out of the lines just a bit softened it and I appreciated your thought process! Love these colors even though they are not your "usual"... they look great!
