I used this plaid and this tree scene without the colorful flowers for my scene. I did this scene a few weeks ago for the SC challenge so it came together quick for this card.
Thanks for the challenge
-Tear a large sticky note in two pieces – one piece much smaller than the other.
-Mask off the sun – my mask is a 1 1/16” circle punched from a sticky note, also masked off the ground portion of the panel with the smaller section of torn sticky note.
-Using a brayer inked in yellow brayer onto the lower portion of the panel and start off the cardstock rolling back and forth and side to side to avoid lines. Now add the orange in the same manner but from the top of the panel ink up a second time and repeat. The last color is real red starting from the top again and avoid going over the entire panel until most of the ink is used up, then brayer over the entire sky portion. Remove the sun mask and brayer over the panel without loading the brayer with ink; this tones the white down just a little.
-Now cover the sky portion of the panel with the other piece of torn sticky note. Also place the first piece of sticky note used at an angle on the ground to add depth. Brayer on the green, then remove the angled sticky note and brayer on more green but keeping it bit lighter than the first application.
-Now itÂ’s time to add the images using a stamp positioner.
-I used a black marker to fill in the leaves of the weeds.
-The negative effect embossing technique for the Cuttlebug embossing, check the SCS Techniques Challenge master thread for directions or click here.
-I did some faux brads by using a die cut hole to add to the faux stitching corners.
-I had a mark on the orange section of sky in two places so I inked up only the bird of the image and covered the spot.
-The designer paper and orange base were ink distressed on the edges.
