I've said it before, but I'm saying it again, the sketch challenges are the most difficult for me! I suppose my mind can not be put in a pattern. But I do thank you, Roxie, for the always stretching exercise. I finally realized I didn't need to mat eact piece, you could cut one big rectangle....duh lightbulb went on and how long have I been playing in the SC???
I managed to combine 2 other challenges with the SC. Our very own Schirmcat's new WOW challenge as in Word of the Week. Today's word was new. And I immediately thought of the verse in Corinthians about being a NEW creation in Christ. And I used the challenge from 365 Card Blog to make a checkerboard background.
The papers are an unknown checkerboard, Yellow Bicycles fabulous black and white flourish, red Brazzill linen texture and the ubiquitous (how's that for a word, 'cat?) GP white cs! I used Memento Tuxedo Black on the scripture and embossed with clear ep. The square frame was dry embossed with one of the square nestabilities. And I used a watercolor pencil to circle my word for the challenge.
Thanks so looking and may you experience one something new today...be it a taste, touch, a smell, a sound, or a sight! And I would love to know that it was...
I'm home over at one4joydaily stop by and let me know what your NEW was today.

Dramatic - and I like the red circle emphasising the *new*.
I have to say that the first verse that came to my mind was about His mercies being new every morning - but I couldn't tie that in with my new chicken.
