My card if you didn't notice, has the word clue and arrows on it to look under the billiard table. There is also the tip of a rat's tail on the right hand side. If I hadn't seen this rat I might have missed the clue. I happened to see this rat run under the table. I thought what kind of manner has rats so I looked under the table and saw....
Well what I saw was proof that none of Mr. Boddy's guest is guilty. I had thought all along that they must be innocent. They all seemed to have air tight alibis. The guilty party is the gardner... Mike Flannery.
What none of Mr. Boddy's guests knew was that he had a terrible gambling problem. Just last week he had Mike come in a play a game of pool with him. Mr. Boddy had lost 6 games in a row and was sure that he would win the 7th game. (Can't use logic with a gambler.) He had already lost all of his money all that was left was the deed to his house. He had a note scribble quickly that he set on the side of the billiard table when he lost to Mr. Flannery, he crumpled it up and threw it under the table. When Mr. Flannery came over last night to collect on Mr. Boddy's gambling debts, Mr. Boddy laughed in his face and said that it had all been in fun.
Under the billiard table was the promisory note and a garden spade covered in blood. I think if the police go look at the new garden that was just planted they might find something other than flowers there.
The bigger mystery is who do you send a clue card to? The answer to that is my brother. We loved playing clue growing up. We also played a lot of pool. His birthday is this week on Friday. He will love this card. Even though I made him a card already this year. I guess he gets two.
Note on the making of the card. I did Lynn's tutorial for the recessed window to make the pool table.

Oh gosh, that recessed card idea is fantastic, it was MADE to be a pool table, I can never look at a recessed card again without thinking it should have been a pool table. Love your pool cues, actually I love everything about your card.

This is great! I can't even figure out how you did that table - it is really fun! I love how you have a purple billard ball with the #4 on it too - great minds think alike and all that. That story is too funny!

OMG! How fun this is for your brother! Did you go to investigator school? You have all your evidence lined up like ducks in a row! Maybe its billiard ball thingys all in a row! How creative and fun Marilynn! I love this.....I was worried that people would not know what Clue was!!! I am glad they seem too! Hee!
So sorry I was so late in getting here. Inspector Clouseau accidently spilled the blood samples all over the pool table and the other investigators are throwing a fit. When I left they had Clouseau pinned against the wall with the cue sticks! Yikes!
Thanks for coming Marilynn...and bringing your awesome card...Happy Birthday to your bro....

Yuck, I think I'll give gardening a pass for a week or two, wouldn't like to find anything suspicious there. I spotted the recessed frame for your pool table - so clever. DH has been admiring this card and says to tell you so - so it's a safe bet your brother will love it too.
Check out this billiard room I found for Mr Boddy and Mr Flannery to play in - http://www.english-heritage.org.uk/server/show/nav.17400/chosenImageId/12 - it's the last house I lived in in the UK before I came back to Ireland to get married.

Great job with the technique but I'm not so sure about the crime solving. Maybe this is like the Orient Express and they all had a hand in it. Love your pool table.
