I made this card for today's Limited Supply Challenge: to make a card for a man - no ribbon, no flowers & no bling! Eek! Well, I have been wanting to use this image for a while now to make a thank you card for our pastor who cam and visited my school last term and spoke to the class I teach. He was really inspiring and the kids learnt a lot so I want to let him know that. I thought this image and sentiment was perfect!
I embossed the image using black EP on watercolour paper and coloured with inkpads and an aquapainter. I stamped it three times - once for the whole image, once for the lighthouse and cottage, and a third for the compass and birds. The layers were built up using dimensional glue. The compass as crackle accents on it but it hasn't dried in the photo so it's still shiny. I wanted to use manly embellishments so I went with black brads!
