Let me start off by saying that I LOVED school. I seemed to have lucked out through my school years with some amazing teachers and although IÂ’ve always been grateful, I seemed to have developed even more of an admiration for teachers when my sister became a teacher. The teaching profession is by far in one of those professions that is way underpaid and at times unappreciated. I started making gifts for my teachers at a very young age and so I thought I would continue this tradition with my nephew and niece.
The idea for this project came to me when Gaven, my nephew, and I were enjoying lunch. He was drinking his milk out of this cute little milk carton and it instantly brought me back to my middle school days. So I made sure to bring the carton home with me. I washed it out, took it apart and managed to come up with my own pattern. I made the milk section and "to open" arrow on Photoshop, printed it out and added it to the milk carton before assembling it. I added some prima flowers with halfback pearls in the middle to the box. The Got Chalk? I stamped with JustRite Times New Roman font set and punched it out with the Modern Label Punch. I filled it with chalk of course and will be including a gift card to a local teaching supply store in the card.
For the card I just had to use on of my favorite teacher images from Stamping Bella, Teachabella. I colored her with Copic Markers and adhered it to the card front. The sentiment I stamped with JustRite Special Occasions font set. Much like the milk carton I decorated it with prima flowers and halfback pearls and finished it off by tying some White Organza ribbon.
TFL!

This is just over the top cute, Caro! Your card is adorable and I thought that was a real milk carton. I remember those and I can't believe you actually constructed one. Great idea!

this is SO cute! you're right about teachers, it's a shame. Another similarity with us; I usually gave my teachers gifts too - I even gave Mrs. Landrock (5th grade) a crocheted blanket because she was retiring and I really liked her.
