This card is for Ways to Use it....variegated colors, and for Mothermark's Teapot Tuesday Challenge, which is now featured HERE at SCS in this thread!:
I wrote to Cindy to let her know that my card may be late because we are fighting REAL bees here at the Schirmer home! FOR REAL, not even pretend bees...but they appear to be about the size of Cindy's actual teapot!
We had to have an exterminator come last year for European Hornets! I am pretty sure that at Mothermark's One-Year Teapotaversary held at Windsor Castle, that one accidentally stowed-away in my purse, and has now taken up residence in our CHIMNEY! So I told her that I was NOT going to attract any of these things to come in our house by making a BIG BEE card that might command their attention. A few do escape inside at night because they sleep all day. Then they are attracted to the light, and let me tell you, when they decide to kiss up to a light bulb the sound is like a loud BOING! Jason was sure that a helicopter landed in our house somewhere the other night.
So for today's card I focused on the FLOWER in the teapot making it (and the sentiment) variegated, and then chose the weeeee-est bee I could find by Kim Hughes, hoping it would fall of the resident bees' radar screens!

Kelly, sorry about the real bees. At least it doesn't sound as bad as the story I heard about on the news last night. A lady in Phoenix had bees that had built a hive underneath her bathtub. They showed them removing the hive. It gives me the willies just thinking of it. I love your little itty bitty bee. He isn't scary at all. I think your flower is fabulous. So creative as always!!!

Love this adorably homespun card!!! That's one great, super huge, variegated flower and one cute teeny bee. The liquid pearls make a terrific bee trail. I like how you scored your flower, too. What a happy card

Oh, you poor dear! You could have bees in your bonnet and hope you don't sit upon it! (snort) This is too cute! Love the BIG flower and all the texture! Wonderful touch using the liquid pearls for the sweet little bees flight path!

Oh Bummer about the bees, we had bees in our fireplace chimney one year, a nice roaring fire in the fireplace got rid of them! Your card is super cute, love your flower and the colors!

Bees sleep all day, or hornets sleep all day. I know bees don't - and luckily I don't think we have any hornets here. I spotted this lovely flower a while back, but I was on the phone to my dad, so I can really only type two or three word comments when that is the case. I think your big blue bell flower is just lovely - but I would be worried that it might attract more bees than just that little sweet one buzzing past leaving his trail of honey pearls.
I can see the temptation of Cathleen's suggestion of a fire - but a roomful of angry bees is NOT something you want, so I am not so sure. I think Mutniks beekeeper bear would be a better option. Or Uncle Beeford, to charm them out.

Fantastic card, Kelly! Love that variegated flower and tiny bee! Sorry about your real bee problem! You were smart to keep this guy little so your chimney bees won't even know he's there!
