What an awesome color challenge....my craft room smells mighty clean!!! Maybe my DH will think I've been cleaning instead of stamping...heehee!!! I used Close to Cocoa and used the bleach to stamp it with the retired SU French Lace background stamp to create So Saffron for the scalloped layer. The Rubbernecker bee was colored with copics...the head was popped up on a dimensional and the wings were covered with glitter.
This is also for the Muddermark's Tea Pot Tuesday challenge. She invited us to Booneville, Mississippi for a tea party hosted by Uncle Beeford Bumble and the boys...all of his bees have disapeared except 12 boys. My little Betty Bee wants to go with me to check out the boys...maybe they are looking for a new Queen!!!! I better get there quick....remember last week how the Mudder stuffed the ballot box for Alicia??? I want to make sure Betty has a chance this week!!!!!!
This is also for last weeks DDC challenge hosted by Beverly (beestamper). She designed this AWESOME sketch for us to use. I did flip it to accomodate the bee image. Please join us in the challenge and be sure to add DDC to the key words section of your upload. TFL and now I'm on my way to Mississippi!!!!

I VOTE FOR BETTY for Queen Bee!!!! 'course if there are more than 1 going for queen bee... things could get ugly fast! I love how you have her colored. Having her head popped up is really neat. I love how the bleached part looks. Your honey comb looking dp is really pretty.

What an adorable bee! She must be a talker. Love that smile. Love her color too. The other bees will be so attracted to her. Awesome job Joan on the challenges. Cute fun card. TFS :0)

Great card! I love that the dp looks sort of honeycomb-ish (but you already knew that - that's why you used it, right?) Great job on ALL of the challenges - thanks for playing!

I love your bee - you did an awesome job with the coloring, the piecing, and the glitter (I love glitter - I must as it is all over my house). The image is really darling. I will have to learn that bleach technique - it may fool my DH into thinking I have actually been cleaning instead of making cards! Thanks so much for sharing (the card, the story, and the bleach tip).
