I had to work for a while at this one but I am so happy with how it turned out. It is based on Rainy's sketch, and also combines the "create your own background paper" and "ribbon" challenges. I had been meaning to check out how stamping that Halloween filigree design repeatedly would look and it think it looks pretty awesome!
The colors were inspired by some patterned paper I saw in a mag - I have jotted the colours down in my idea notebook, thinking it could be something different and unique to try out.
For the main image, I switched the squares for circles and glued a black jumbo grommet in the middle of it. Then, I stamped the spider in Versamark on black cs, embossed it with Iridescent Ice powder, cut it out and added it on top of the grommet. I added some silver cording coming from underneath the spider and wrapping around the card.
To stay with the spiderweb theme, I cut apart some Dusty Durango ribbon and frayed it completely.
Another element that turned out pretty cool is the Designer brad. I thought I could ink the ridges of the brads to make them stand out better and when I inked the brad, I found the ink only stayed on the top circles and I liked the look so instead of pressing the brad deeper in the ink and wiping the excess ink off, I let the ink only sit on top of the brad and embossed it with Iridescent Ice powder so that it would stay in place. (Note: You could also use StazOn and skip the embossing.)
Finally, the background was stamped with the Sanded background and then I added an Iridescent Ice-embossed Medallion for some additional sparkle. (Because sparkle is always good!)
