My card will not look like any of the other ones in the teapot gallery so I guess it is time for a story...
This is Michaelangelo and Leonardo (Turtles aren't the only ones who can have sophisticated names.#
All their lives they have wanted to visit the Louvre Museum. They love color and art. After leaving Paris, they were going to fly to Monaco. Not only are they art aficionados, but they are sport fanatics as well. They wanted to see the tour de France. The were on their way, flying to Bourg-Saint-Maurice, when they caught up with the riders. They wanted a place that provided a good view. They decided to sit on a telephone wire. They saw these little snails crossing the road and got very excited it looks like they are going to get lunch after all the bikes go by. Escargot, yummy!! #Not for me but for parrots, I am sure it is wonderful!#
I drew one of the parrots. I scanned it into the computer, copied and flipped it so that they faced eachother. I then printed them on white cardstock. I colored them in with prisma colored pencils. I pierced two holes on either side of their feet to run the twine #wire) through. I chalked in the sky and ground. I added brads in the corners and matted the image with blue, green and red cardstock.
4 brads -$.20, twine-$.05, cardstock-$.20, escaping a rainy day in Iowa to visit France with my friends...priceless!!

Oh MariLynn, you never disappoint. I was wondering how you were moving from snails to birds and after reading your story now I know. Very clever, girl. The string through the feet is an embellishment I am sure will be cased several times.

So, if you can draw this good, why aren't you designing stamps, my friend? :-)
Your parrots are beautiful, and I love how you have them perched on the telephone wire. They are very smart birdies not to get caught up in all that Peleton stuff like those poor snails.

This is not my comment!
The News out of Bourg-Saint-Maurice where Stage 16 of the Tour de France is being held is that of shock, disbelief and amazement! It seems the entire Peloton was taken out shortly after the first climb.
The local news is reporting that a couple of very famous parrots/sports enthusiasts who were passing through on their way to a famous museum swooped down for lunch nabbing a couple of fat, tastey snails. When they were exiting with their lunch they miscalculated the speed of the Peloton and bounced from bike to bike, rider to rider only to end up in the spokes of the Yellow Jersey.
We have not been able to confirm yet, but we are getting early reports from the finish that a group of new riders called Team TTT made it through the chaos and are advancing toward the finish! As they are riding through the streets, they seem to be making demands for new jerseys made of expensive imported silk fabric with teapot etchings on them. It is also reported that they are demanding tea, and treats, and gift certificates to the local scrapbooking stores!
More information to follow as we are kept appraised of these new developments! Stay tuned for interviews with the top riders of the Peloton!

Oh yes, I saw those parrots in the zoo we visited somewhere in France. They must have been passing by. Do parrots eat snails? I thought that was the French - and thrushes.
p.s. if they really want to see colour, better redirect them to the Pomidou Centre for all the modern art. I still remember the Kandinskys and Chagalls, and Rousseau - and the only time I went there I was still in my teens.
Wonderful card, MariLynn.

Beautiful MariLynn. Pretty sky in the background, your drawing always fascinates me, because I love to draw too, and you sure are talented at it. Well, I'm glad Lilette and Sabine made it to the party, or else at least Sabine would have been lunch to those parrots. Though, they are beautiful they still are the ennemy. LOL Always good to see you at the party, love spending time with you too my friend.

Those parrots are going to be so busy. It is a good thing there are two so they can keep each other company on their journey. This is amazing MariLynn. I love the way you create with your computer skills. Super job.
