I created this card for a dear friend. I used Lauren Meader's My Time to Create Color Challenge (MTCC04) as my inspiration.
I created the "crazy quilt" by punching inchies of patterned paper I picked up at the Hobby Lobby in GA, adhering them to white cs and using my Nestabilities to cut them out in an offset layout (hence my "crazy quilt"). I traced the same die on some Sahara Sand cs and cut it out to get my layered base. I created the faux stitching on the quilt by drawing black dots and connecting them with a white gel pen. The faux stitching on the border of the brown cs was created by piercing the border and connecting the holes using a yellow chalk marker. I created a raspberry fizz flower to match my ribbon by pressing a beige flower into my PTI stamp pad. It turned out dark, but I really like the contrast!
I formed my bows using a technique I found on Nichole Heady's blog. I usually have no problem creating decent bows, but her technique is soooo simple and they turn out beautifully every time!

Oh, Kristen, this is so GREAT!!! I LOVE the quilt effect and I thought the stitching was real until I read both sets were "faux". Great job on the techniques. I am in LOVE with your pretty bows and thanks for the blog to see how they're done - I copied it for future reference!!! What a "perfect" sentiment to go with your quilt theme!!! Awesome my friend! TFS!
