What a cool teapot Kris shared with Cindy for us this week. And what a wonderfully fun card Cindy made. Straightaway all those fish made me think of Stargazy Pie and The Mousehole Cat, which reminded me of our holiday in Cornwall when we visited Mousehole.
Not being a lover of fish, the cats and I made Cornish Pasties to bring for dinner after the tea-party. I can't get lard here anymore, but someone in work got me some last week when she was up in Northern Ireland, so Cornish Pasties really are on the menu soon...In the unlikely event that anybody wishes to try making them, the card is yours for the asking, complete with a conversion to American measurements...Because the cats knew I wanted to fit this in with the CCEE Footprints challenge one of the cats was very naughty and jumped on the table while I was rolling out the pastry, and left some floury footprints on the card. That was the black cat, he's a bit upset because I scolded him and whooshed him off the table, so he's hiding out somewhere.
I thought I had a little ornament of one of these cats making jam tarts, which would have been perfect for afternoon tea - but I must have given it away when we moved. These 3 are all ready to lead us in singing For She's a Jolly Good Fellow to Cindy, before moving on to provide some cat-baret entertainment for the evening.
This is a large card, to fit the recipe - a sheet of black card folded in half. I printed the recipe, trimmed it and sponged the edges with red. It's layered onto some yellow Bazzill decorated with punched blue spots. I stamped the cats from Pun Fun, and was delighted to discover that the chef's hat from Voila fitted perfectly. They were coloured with pencils. I added some flatback embellishments, and some white paw-prints from an unknown stamp along the bottom.

OMG! Not only do we get a recipe for free but a serenade! I hope your cats can sing better than my cats can cook. I can see this turning into quite the fiasco with cats of attitude running around but since the tune your kitties chose gives me warm fuzzies, I'll get rid of the cooks before I get rid of the entertainers! Shh...don't tell Bertie!
What a fun idea to do a recipe card! My card is as big as yours Sabrina! Just couldn't get all of those pieces of paper on a smaller one! I know that is a big surprise for you! Hee!
So glad you got some lard and can make your nice dinner! Maybe someday we can have a tea party in a lard factory and you can make off with lots and lots! We will keep the factory workers busy while you load up! At least 3 years supply would be good I think!
Thanks for coming....thanks for sharing your fun little singing kitties and yummy recipe! Funny how a teapot can spur a memory!
Your recipe card is just fabulous!!! I love the kitties and the floury footprints will fit right in with Mothermark's CATering staff! I can't wait to taste these, TFS!!!!!

Your inspiration brought back such good memories of my home town, Grass Valley- where Cornish Pasties were the main fund raiser at every event! The ladies would gather in the huge kitchen in the lodge up in the moutains and cook these all day! Oh they are delish!
Love your lil Chef Kitten and rolling pin- he can use that to keep things straight if anyone gets out of control! lol! Love your musical element too- how nice to have sweet music while you dine! Ooo-la-lal!

Sabrina, your pasties sound so yummy. I love the little chef hat on your cat. The little flour foot prints are so cute. I love the embellishments. The rolling pin is perfect. My card is a big card too. Just had to be. I love the way you staged your card for photographing. So creative.

You and I were on the same thought track today. What a cute scene and card you have created. The little cat prints and cooking tools are the perfect finishing touch. The Pasties sound delicious. Just curious. What is STRONG white flour?

Bertie can sing, too! Bertie LUVS to sing, and she will sing for food, speshully if someone else is stirrin' up the fixins:
For she's a jolly good fellow...
for she's a jolly good fellow....
for she's a jolly good feeeeeellllloooooooow!
which nobunny can deny!
Sabrina, this is so creative and cute! What a fabulous idea, and I love those three kitties on top of the piano serenading all of us. However, Bertie also read da Muddermark's remark about entertainers versus cooks and just may have to retract the song she just sang. Your little utensils and floury footprints are so cute. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your creation today!

Geeesh you cats can cook and sing. They should go on tour. They could sing for their supper so they wouldn't have to cook. This sounds yummy. Great recipe card.
