Ugh. Well, one thing I can say about this card is that it uses all 4 of the challenge colors for today's color challenge (CC226) to use tempting turquoise (card base), apricot appeal (sponged sand and DP for outer frame and "ribbon"), creamy caramel (sea shell), and baja breeze (sponged ocean inner frame). Oh, and I even used the alternate color, bashful blue (which could be used in place of baja breeze), in the sponged sky. Other than that, I'm not sure this card has much going for it. I also created it for the Flourishes pre-release challenge (FLLCJULY) to make a card with a "by the sea" theme and for this week's Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge (FTTC23) to "pop it up." I guess I've satisfied all of these requirements, but I'm afraid something was lost along the way. The only reason I'm posting this now is because I have so much time invested. Oh, well--better luck next time, right?
The three sizes of "die cuts" were hand cut using templates from melstampz.blogspot.com. I created the beach/ocean scene by masking & sponging with three different colors. I attempted to make a foamy waterline along the beach with white Fun Flock, but that didn't go well and I'm not sure it does what I intended. I drew in some white wave lines with a white gel pen and some far off birds with a black pen. I stamped the shell image three times on some scraps of quasi-marbled paper I had that approximate the creamy caramel color. After cutting out the shells, I layered them three high with dimensionals in between to give it some depth. Finished with gold brads to balance out my design.
And there you have it: a card that tried to do too much.
Anyway, thanks for looking,
Emily

Let me be the first to tell you I disagree: This is definitely not what I would consider an 'ugh' card by any means. I was so taken with the thumbnail that I had to see it closer. I absolutely think your card is stellar. Beautiful everything!
