This week for Cindy's teaparty we are visiting a botanical garden in Ireland. We are going to start acumulating frequent flier miles with traveling to London, and Hershey PA and now Ireland. (I hope that Kelly found a horse headed home.)
Here is the teapot for this week's teaparty inspiration:
I knew I wanted to do another stand up card for TLC228. (Cindy this is a TRICK that I know you will love!!! It is so easy!!) When I saw last week that we were visiting the gardens, I knew I wanted to try quilled and 3-d flowers. It was really hard to photograph, but the rose on my card has 5 different layers. The quilled flowers have a depth of about 1/4". Since we are going to Ireland, I just couldn't leave my card white, so I used some GREEN dp that I had been hoarding. I don't know where my birds went. I must have scared them off when I walked to the bench that was in this area of the garden. I brought my camera so I could capture this beautiful garden. As I sat really still, I noticed these butterflies.
Don't tell the Queen, but the flowers in this garden are so much prettier than hers.
I'm a simple country gal. No fancy hats here. I did however have a St. Louis Cardinals ball cap. (Well, actually it is little ball cap bowls that Dairy Queen has for their sundaes. I keep mine on my desk to hold my stamping sponges.) If you want to see my hat check out my new blog I will post the photo there:

I'm glad you remembered to incorporate some of the forty shades of green. It was getting a bit dry, but now we've had some rain everything is good and green again and all blooming for the butterflies to enjoy, just as on your card. I love the swirly stems for the yellow quilled flowers, and I can see some of the depth of layers on the rose.

OMGosh, MariLynn! This is stunning! I love the DP background and the gorgeous quilled flowers! The layered rose is so beautiful! Pretty butterflies, too! How perfect for our tea party in the botanical gardens! I think your cap will serve the purpose just fine!

What a beautiful garden you have created. Those quilled flowers are going to get you in the front door for sure! Little disappointed you didn't mention bringing a dessert today. Guess it would have been a little hard because of the long trip. Maybe we could just refill your ball hat with ice cream.

Beautiful stand up card MariLynn! I do love your rosesand the yellow ones too. Always love to see your butterflies poppin up.
Now, I have come to the party with the best of intentions this week, hat, chocolate boxes and all. But it's probably the "all" that is a bit much. As you might know, I ran into the gorgeous Vincent downtown Dublin, I mean down in the town sewers. And though, his condo is spotless, there seems to be an odour that doesn't lie about it. You can take the Beast out of the sewers, but you can't take the sewers out of the beast! Did you ever hear that saying...neither I. LOL

Wow! This is one very lovely and gorgeous stand-up card, MariLynn! I love all the dimension with your flowers. Your butterflies are beautiful, too.
I went to your blog to make sure your hat would work for you, and I regret to inform you that it's not going to. Why, if a pigeon poops on your head, it's just gonna run right down the sides of the smooth surface and get into your hair, you silly goose! Since da Muddermark is letting me use her card for my fat head (as she insinuated), you can borrow my hat. Come on....let's go get it out of Sabrina's lovely cottage.

MariLynn this is over the top....wow...you have a lot of talent...another little thing I wanted to try quilling. Another class another day. MariLynn your Blog is just as beautiful as your card. I know we are silly and crazy...but aren't all artist?
We all have fantastic imaginations that won't quit! Frankly I love it. I finally found a place that I can be whatever I want to be. Speaking of BEE's watch your bonnet. Oh don't worry they are still smelling the flowers and eating the grass. The are really being good. I hope Bertie don't start chasing them away...she will be sorry....
thanks so much for such a beautiful card and a great inspiration for me to get to the quilling calls. Oh yeah...standup card....geez another class I need!!!!
Ok...looking at the list...standup card now appears on the list to learn.

Hey there Ms. McGiver! What a trick you pulled off! You think I could do it? Before I try, I better check out the official name of this trick, it might be too scary! Your card is gorgeous. I love your home-made quilled flowers. You will try any trick! That's what I love about you! Love the green border and the butterflies, what more could there be in a Botanical Garden in Dublin??
Bertie's hat won't fit you! You better stick to your baseball hat. Just flip it over your head with the sponges still inside and if the white stuff runs down the smooth part like Berties says, the sponges will absorb it! No problemo!
I hope you got your stamp set!!! I can't remember when I mailed it but is gone so I musta! Snort! Snuffs!

Oh MariLynn sorry you scared off your doves, but at least these gorgeous butterflies came by. They look so good on this stand up card you made. Your 5 layered roses are just lovely along with your quilled flowers. Now about your sponge holding cap,....I have seen how much bird doo doo is falling down, I'd put the cap on minus the sponges. Wonderful card today. I'll catch up with you soon! TFS :0)
