Okay.....On this past Sunday, I left for Maine, not knowing that my very dear friend, DawnL, was the featured stamper on SCS. This honor was so well deserved AND so long OVERDO for Dawn. She is one of my idols, and one of my first dear friends on SCS. In the old stalking threads in the challenge area, she was the first to really make me feel welcome as we stalked and chatted while waiting for the next challenge to be posted. She has also been a mentor for me, encouraging me and inspiring me. She is a Mother Earth, with her llamas, cooking, berry picking, and strength of family. She is a stamper with many talents, and a particular masterpiece quality to her coloring. I call her the Queen Colorist. Look through her gallery and you will see that she earns this name. She is also the Queen of Florals to me, from her many creations with Roses in Winter to her most recent work on the Gina K Spolight Team. She is a Dirty Dozen alum and also has blessed many companies with her DT work. Her children are artists in their own right, but 'the acorn don't fall far from the tree' if you get my drift!!!!
Anyhow......this afternoon I went down to the workshop to case one of her cards. I was late, but I still wanted to participate in this FS. AND.....what happened, we had an electrical storm and couldn't use the computer.....so I used my memory of several of Dawn's cards to make this one. It pales in comparison to her beautiful work, but the saying is true.......Simply, Dawn inspires me!!!!
(This is also eligible for the Stampin B's Challenge of using metal on a card. Check out how YOU can play at the Stampin' B's Blog .

I really like those mix of papers - they are so refreshing, nice layout and great job of piercing and embellishing.
I too was late for getting a card done for Dawn's big day but I think I beat the next FS challenge...by minutes!
