I'm amazed that I was able to load this 3-page layout--the first time I've ever done a layout to be viewed as 3 pgs together. (Now I have to figure out how to create a fold-out 3-page page protector!)
This is for JennÂ’s Going Green challenge this week. We had a great time at this park and it was truly greener than most places we go in the Phoenix area, so these pics came to mind when I thought of doing a green challenge. I photographed each page separately, so the colors don't appear to match, but they do IRL.
It started out with the background all green, but with all the pink in our clothes, it needed some pink in there. I cut out the sahuaro cactus freehand.
Journaling: *On this morning, after spending the night at our house, the girls woke up early, and I suggested that the four of us all get dressed and have a quick breakfast, so we could hop in the car and drive to Saguaro Ranch Park over by the main Glendale Public Library, north of 59th Ave. & Olive. So, thatÂ’s what we did. We were on the road and at the park before 9 a.m.!! After spending some time at their neat playground, we strolled over to the historic section.
There were a couple of peacocks strolling around and quite a few roosters & chickens—I think the girls were more nervous about them than they were about the girls! Neither peacock spread their tail feathers, but they were still pretty and fun to watch up close.
They have a nice rose garden there that must be spectacular during the peak season, but the warm weather had almost arrived and most of the roses were past their prime or gone. IÂ’d like to go again a little earlier in the year to see the roses at their best.
We all really enjoyed this park. It had a nice feel to it -- kind of cozy -- different from most attractions in the desert. The Glendale website has this to say about the park: “Preserving one of the Valley’s oldest and most magnificent ranches, the 17-acre Sahuaro Ranch Park Historic Area features 13 original buildings, a rose garden, barnyard and historic orchards. Listed on the National Register of Historical Places and known as the *Showplace of the Valley,* the Sahuaro Ranch Park Historic Area offers activities, exhibits and guided tours—keeping the history of early settlement in the Valley alive.*

Wendy,
This is fantastic! I have never seen a 3-page spread but, I love it. I can't wait to here how you create the fold out page protector. Truly Awesome!

Oh WOW! I never thought of a 3 page layout. I'm going to have to give that a try with my layout of hubby's band pics. I always take so many, and hate not to use them all. If you figure out the foldout thing, please share!
