I, ahem, cheated on SCS. I've been watching the thinking inking videos over on 2peas. Please forgive me. :(
Jennifer McGuire showed how to use a mask and acrylic paint daubers to make really neat background effects. I don't own paint daubers, but I do have OODLES of unused and seriously unloved acrylic paints. Soooo, I pulled them out and used a foam brush to pounce on the paints, and you know what? I think it was just as nice. So here's the link to the video tutorial (just don't feel like you have to run out and buy the paint daubers really. Unless that is, you *need* them - then go right ahead! )
I used a modified layer mask like she did in the last segment with the leafy stem. The changes I made: 1.used pearl ex instead of perfect pearls and
2. I added the masks (heidi swapp) to white cardstock. I did the technique, but when I removed the masks, the white looked so stark that I sponged on creamy caramel to soften it. I love how it turned out. What do you think?

Wow! This looks fabulous and, like you, I have lots of unused paints! Thanks for posting the link! Love the hearts on the background and the ribbon looks fabulous with the slide! Kudos!
