she had a little night light teapot that Shirley had sent her.
I was drawn to the little swirly lines. I had been thinking for several days how to do the Stampinb's challenge. Joanne's challenge was to use dry and heat embossing on a card. I decided that I would dry emboss swirly lines like the teapot. I freehand cut a swirly line. I placed my cardstock on a piece of foam. I used my embossing stylus to trace along the swirly line on the back of the card front. After I repeated the embossed lines, I flipped the card back over and I swiped over the embossed lines with my white craft ink. I then used an embossing pen and gold ep to heat emboss the edges of the card and the sentiment panel. The flowers were stickers that I got from the dollar store. I just had to add a butterfly.
I was thinking how bugs are drawn to the light. My butterfly couldn't help itself. The light was just too hard to resist.
I was also thinking about Cindy's light. She has such a sweet, creative spirit that we are all drawn into following her.

Hi Marilynn! Wow, what a card! Its so beautiful and the sentiment with gold accents was the perfect choice! I am always amazed reading your stories and how you come up with things! This one is no exception! You are quite the talented stamper!
Oh no! I never even thought about bugs! We better tell the others to bring some bug spray! Can bugs swim, in tea? Well, maybe we can have bug swimming contests and the best bug drowns! Snort!
On a serious note, than you so much for the kind words. You are so thoughtful! I love that you are here week after week! I need your address girly! I have it, but not with me! Snugs!

Well done for going with the swirls!! I thought crimping, and then quickly dismissed the thought. Just as well, your dry-embossed wavy lines are much more like the elegance of the tea-light. Love the gold embossing too.
So long as it's just butterflies, I think Cindy is right to be worried about all the other bugs that might come. I'll pack some Citronella oil and candles along with my tea.

MariLynn, this is gorgeous. Love how you embossed those lines and the gold edges. Girl, you got a beauty going on here. Remember that old song, I don't, some one told me about it, any way the name of it was "Dead skunk in the middle of the road." Well, I hate to ruin anyone's tea,but I have dead bugs in the middle of my tea cup. Oh, Mothermark, in answer to your question, nope, bugs can't swim in hot tea, I think it is too hot for them. I am adding some chocolate on top of them, I believe I said earlier that chocolate made everything good, guess that goes for dead bugs, too. A delicacy? Oooee.

Gorgeous, MariLynn! So soft and delicate.
I don't mind if a butterfly is drawn to the light, but some of those other pesky insects can be a nuisance.....like those itsy bitsy teeny weeny ones that fly into the house through the tiny holes in the screen windows. How come they gotta do that?
I hope to join the tea party after work!! Save me some chocolate, k?

This card puts you at the head of the table this week. It is a beauty. As for bugs, I bet a place like Hershey Park has very good screens on their eating area, so no problem
