I am a kid of the 90's. When I think of my high school years, I remember wearing the grundge look with XXL Levi's jean shirts, checkered shirts, baggy pants and bodysuits, reading R.L. Stine thrillers and Sweet Valley High books, listening to No Doubt, Green Day, The Offspring and Ace of Base, watching The Nanny & Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, reading YM magazine and dancing to Rythm is a Dancer, Mr. Personality, Informer and Cotton-Eyed Joe at school dances.
This is a page that has been on the back of my mind for a while and I think it will be very funny to read back on those things in a few years from now. It would have been even better if I could have added picture of me from back then but I don't have any with me here, they're all at my parents' house.
Any memorable trend I missed?
To ink the chipboard letters, I used a dauber and sponged some Razzleberry ink on them. I also used the dauber to ink the edges of all of my cardstock and papers for a grungy look. Now that we have In Color markers (yeah!!), I was able to write my own journaling in matching colours. The letters on the right page were die-cut with the Billboard Alphabet and the Go Go Boots alphabet. I created a pattern on my background by stamping the various circles from Pick a Petal on the Melon Mambo cardstock. Those circles are a wonderful way to create a whimsical background, even if you don't want flowers in there.
To make the '90s and the top tag look like chipboard, I cut and punched the pieces four times and stacked the cardstock and paper to create some dimension. This is a great trick when your die is not big enough to cut through cardstock.
