This is my entry for today's Inspiration Challenge (IC185), to make a card inspired by the soft-sole leather baby shoes made by Bugaloo. My card is inspired by this pair of "Dash" Bugaloo shoes: http://www.bugalookids.com/PhotoGall...ductCode=doggy
I needed an 11th birthday card for the daughter of my best friend. She loves animals (hopes to be a vet someday!) and usually asks for donations (dog or cat food, leashes, etc.) for the local SPCA shelter in lieu of gifts. I wanted to make a fun card to go along with our donation.
I tried a new technique today with this card: stitching! I used an old needle with my real sewing machine (as opposed to a paper stitcher) to stitch around the puppy and kitty on white. I tried to stitch around the sentiment on the circle on the front, but that turned out to be a disaster. So went with pen "stitching" there instead. I used colored pencils to color in my images.

I love the stitching Emily - both kinds! Man, I wish I knew how to use a sewing machine. My favorite color combo too - brown & blue! I like the paw prints around the edge acting like a frame. Lovely card Emily - I hope your friends daughter has wonderful birthday and collects lots of money for the shelters (how sweet is THAT?!!).
