Nothing went right with this card - I forced myself to participate in the color challenge today, my first one, to try to take my mind off my little dog in the hospital, but it didn't work.
My original intent was to color the sentiments in different colors on the unmounted "All About Christmas" wheel from SU, but without a Baja Spot or marker, this was difficult (won't have to worry about that with our upcoming in-colors at least, right?). I chucked that idea and opted for embossing with clear EP instead. That turned out well enough and I thought I would add the "joy" stamped in ruby red popped up but after six tries and wasting what felt like tons of cardstock I chucked that idea too. I tried a 5/8" grosgrain ribbon first, but then you could barely see the red cardstock, so I took that off and replaced it with a 3/8" grosgrain ribbon, which I liked a little better. If I had to do the card over again I would have left more white and used a border punch instead of the ribbon, or maybe stamped some snowflakes or something in white o the ruby red background.
Positive thoughts about the card:
1) I have another card finished for my June CCC09 challenge
2) this is a 'USPS friendly' card since it doesn't have too many embellishments
Thank you for looking at my card. Blessings.

I love the simplicity of this card - clean and classy! It's funny how we can struggle so much and when we go back to the simple elements the card just works! Hope your little dog is feeling better soon!!!!

I think all the trial & error paid off for this card! I didn't think of this color combo as Christmas, but I like the modern touch it gives. And I like the simple clear embossed words.

Despite all of your travails on this card, I think it turned out great!! (I know how frustrating trial and error like that can be!!) Clean and simple, very elegant. I love the embossing! And great job on the color challenge. Even if the road was long in getting there, you ended with a super result, Meredith!!
