Cindy invited us to a Japanese tea party today, complete with a Sumo wrestler. Stop by her blog for more info about the party: http://mothermark.blogspot.com/
I heard rumors that someone poured some Saki in the tea. I had so much trouble with those drunken chickens I created last week, that I decided to stay away from any critters that might sip tea.
So I am proudly walking in the front door with my non-butt card. I'm still keeping an eye out for that Sumo wrestler and the dreaded circle.
The BG is origami paper with some gold magic mesh layered on it. I stamped the image, tore the edges and then rubbed some gold cream on the edges and the one flower.
As much as I tried to stay away from the spiked tea, I must have gotten some anyway - I mounted my image on the card upside down and had to cut off the front and try again. {{sigh}}
Thanks for taking a peek and thanks, Cindy for hosting this fun party.

Cute card, Mary Anne!!! I have my own teapot and it's filled with Saki... after a few more sips I just might be able to look at those sumo butts after all!!! Nope, don't think so...

MaryAnn this is so elegant looking. I love the gold cording and the gold mesh. The sentiment in the corner is really pretty. I think I want wind though to blow away the sumo wrestler smell.

Pppphhhhhttttt!!! Whoa, MaryAnn! Ya almost got hit by the sushi Dawn was flingin'. Yep, she looks all sweet and innocent, but, once she puts on her big girl panties, she likes to party hearty!
I see there are more of you sittin' out on the terrace with your beautiful and elegant cards today. The rest of us is gittin' tired of havin' to wrestle sumo butt. He's really stinkin' up the place, so we're movin' the party outdoors.
I got such a chuckle out of you puttin' yer image on upside down. The sake is flowin' free and wild!
May I pour you another spot of sak....er....tea?
Your card is so beautiful with the gold cording, mesh and overall oriental theme.

Hey MaryAnn! I gotta tell you sumthin! Did you know you glued your image on your card upside down? Oh, you did and you already fixed it? Oh good! Snort!
I feel like I should make a recording of this but I need to warn everyone that comes! Since I have been waiting for you all to arrive on the terrace, this is what I have learned:
WHATEVER you do, DON'T step foot in the big circle right there. See that big circle? Cuz if you do, that big fat quy in the diaper will push you out, almost as soon as you step in and some times its sorta violent! He might be our host today but his has an attitude as big as his belly! Shhh! Here he comes!
Look at you coming through the front door and out the back onto the terrace! You go girl! I admire your commitment to staying away from the spiked drinks this week. I recall your drunken chickens from last week and honestly drunken Sumo wrestlers might cause a bit more damage than chickens! I will try to help you keep on track as the day progresses! Snort!
I love the look of your card, all of the fun layers, the mesh, the gold twine....its beautifully done and is a pleasure to see today. I'll give you a baggie to put it in to protect it from flingin' sushi!

LOL, been there and done that with sticking card fronts on the wrong way. At least it's easy enough to fix. This is a lovely card, perfect for adding to the atmosphere of the elegant side of the tea-party this week. And that's a lovely text on the image. The magic mesh is a great addition to that paper.

I think elegant is putting those sumo wrestlers to shame. I bet they are almost ready to raise the white flag (oh my gosh, I hope it isn't the one they are wearing.) I like the torn paper with the gold twine.

I think this is so pretty Mary Ann. Too nice for this sumo party. I love this stamped image. It has such an oriental feel to it. Super paper and mesh.. I like your new avie picture (wink)... I forgot to tell you that Cole and I went to Rita's the other day and I had an ice. It was sooooo yummy. I loved it. I had red raspberry. It wasn't the sugar free one. Anyway... if you ever get down here you have to try it. Great card...

Beautiful card MaryAnn. Just love the image, who cares if it's upside down, nobody at the party will see the difference. All I can see is sushi. Have fun, we'll fix your card later, want to go ask the Sumo, you need to walk in this circle right there...nah, just kidding, don't go in there.
LOL TFS, this is really a great card, and I'm having way to much fun when I should be cooking dinner.

Cut back on the saki, as DH would say! LOL Way pretty card. Almost too nice for a party such as today. BUT glad you did sip a little, at least you have an excuse for the up-side down card. I always blame it on being Polish. Lovely card here. Nice to see you here, where ever we are. TFS :0)

What a wonderfully elegant card! There are only a few of us heading in the front door today! I love the origami paper and the mesh! Just lovely! I'm afraid that all the tea has been spiked with sake! I thought I was just having a little tea, but I'm pretty sure there was something else in there. Oh well, I'm going with the flow! You never know what's going to happen at the tea parties!
