You should check out Cindy's hilarious sumo-wrestling teapot card here.
Now, I am far too ladylike to consider wrestling - or wearing those nappy things. So, as I said, I flew Cathay Pacific airlines today and picked up a few props on the way to make my card, although you can see I did use that peachy pink colour and managed some blue leaves too.
The teapot, I already told Cindy the story. It's at least some 60 years old, probably more; it came from an old family friend who had it from her uncle who was a ship's captain way back when. The silk robe is probably even older, I have two that came from my grandmother's house (I think!). They are such amazing work, and the outsides are still in amazing condition but the silk linings on the inside are just shot to pieces with age.
So - took a photo of teapot and silk jacket. Layered on black, and then on some DCWV Asian Stack paper which I embossed with the Leafy Branch folder and sponged the leaves with blue ink. That is also layered onto a black base. All I added apart from that were some rub-ons. As they say Love and Happiness, or Love and Desire (can't remember which one was too wide to fit!), this might be quite a good anniversary card for my sis this weekend.
My teapot is full of fresh tea to refresh all the hot and sweaty wrestlers. Except I only have 4 cups.

Man oh man Sabrina, good thing the rules are "no rules" here! Lovely image, you are just so clever though. Love your story about the teapot and robes. What a beautiful background, so since you are not wrestling, I suppose you will be taking pictures! LOL

What a beautiful teapot and robe. Your card is gorgeous. You might want to leave your good tea cups at home and bring paper cups. This party could get out of hand with all the sumo wrestlers. Nicely done!

Hey Sabrina! You ARE here early! How was your flight? Okay, since I have been waiting for you all to arrive on the terrace, this is what I have learned:
WHATEVER you do, DON'T step foot in the big circle right there. See that big circle? Cuz if you do, that big fat quy in the diaper will push you out, almost as soon as you step in and some times its sorta violent! He might be our host today but his has an attitude as big as his belly! Shhh! Here he comes!
OMG! This challenge was perfect for you to show us your wonderful possessions! What a beautiful teapot and silk jacket! I can't imagine a teapot 60 years old and I am glad to be able to see it! I agree with you what amazing work on the jacket and I think your sis would love this card as I am sure she has the same memories and knows the same history as you! Its wonderful!
Thanks for coming girlfriend and bringing these awesome things! Okay, follow me, I found an awesome little building at the back of the terrace where we can hide your things so they don't get trashed by the host! Snort!

Sabrina, this is just beautiful. What an awesome teapot, jacket and history for both items. The photo on the card is beautiful in its clarity and detail. Love the embossed BG - it's perfect for this card. See you at the party later - I'm still trying to hatch an idea - wait.... chickens were last week.

Well, thank goodness SOMEONE is bringing some class to this rowdy sake-drinkin', sushi-slingin', sumo wrestlin' gig! That's what you are, Sabrina: all class!
That teapot and kimono are so lovely and elegant and beautiful! What treasures you have in your possession! Good idea to photograph them cuz the sumo wrestler might try to wander off with 'em, ya know.
I can't read or speak Japanese, but this looks pretty official to me! So beautiful!

Wow this is amazing stuff. I love the teapot. I can't believe how many pots are out there. The paper you chose is perfect for this challenge. The silk jacket is gorgeous. What a treasure you have in both. TFS

Sabrina, this is a gorgeous card...and inspirational in every way!! Your treasures are such wonderful keepsakes, how special that you could capture both of them on a card!!
This teapot is a bit prettier than the featured one today...and I'm so glad to have another lady to keep me company today!!
