Well, DH's friend has gone, my cold is a bit better and finally I got a card made for yesterday's IC. I had several ideas picked out, but went for THESE OILS, because I thought the strong colours would work for a Father's Day card. I asked DH would he give his dad a card with a flower on it if it were these colours, and he reckoned yes...
The colours are a mix of Bazzill (the deep red and green) and Core'dinations (yellow).
The base is A2, covered with red. Then a smaller layer of green, embossed with Swiss Dots and lightly sanded. I stamped the flower with StazOn Brown and curled the petals slightly. The centre is popped up on two dimensionals for height, and about halfway down the length of petals I used glue to stick them to the base, so there's plenty of dimension going on.
I pressed the hardware into copper ink and thought I added clear EP. Turns out it was white, so I had to wipe it off and start again. So, it's Encore Copper and clear EP, with some Basic Grey brads. The sentiment was computer generated. Added some photo corners to tie it all together, and that's it for today. I will make an insert with the the flower for the inside - but not today!

Sabrina, perfectly wonderful colors for a FDC! I would never have thought of putting those together! The design is uncomplicated and just perfect as a masculine card. I have to think your FIL will so appreciate this work of art.
