I combined today's inspiration challenge with this week's Viva la Verve sketch challenge for this card. The inspiration piece I chose was:
I went with the pink and blue colour scheme and I thought one of the labels looked like a cloud!
The Viva la Verve challenge {twist} was to include lots of white space... Well this is about as much white space I can leave on a card!!! I do love my colours...
I absolutely ADORE this new set from Verve - the balloons have endless possibilities when you start colouring them, paper piecing them, putting messages inside them, etc. etc... Can you tell how much I love them??? Lol! I also HAD to get this set because I'm from Bristol in the UK, which is known for its hot air balloon festival every year. It looks so amazing having them all float over your house in the summer!
I made this card for one of the Year 6 children at my school who will shortly be moving on to Secondary school. I have taught these kids for 3 years now and they're really close to my heart so I want to make them all a card to wish them the very best for the future. This one will undoubtably be for one of the 3 girls...!!
I stamped the two balloons on some K&Co paper and paper pieced them. I stamped some clouds behind and some clouds on seperate card to cut out and layer over the top. The baskets and clouds were coloured with copics.
I used a combination of sentiments that really fit what I wanted to say. I added piercing (can't seem to stop doing that lately!) and the SU eyelet border punch.
TFL!
