Goverment audits are for the birds. I had been sitting at my desk waiting for the auditor and trying to look all professional, all the while this card was calling my name to make him. I guess you can see what won out. The auditor still hasn't come so I have time to still look all President of the company like.
I knew right away what I wanted to do. Yesterday's technique challenge had me looking at photos of my sister in law's chickens. I had already been thinking about making a shaped chicken card.
I took the photo, copied it to microsoft publisher. I enlarged the chicken and cut it out as my pattern. I cut my chicken out of black cardstock. I added red, orange and white with my prisma colored pencils. I added a wiggly eye. It took my only 10 mins to get this card together. Now I can sit back and wait for the auditor.
I told Cindy that I would bring something special to the teaparty because I would be running late. I first thought of bringing CHICKEN SOUP. Everyone knows that chicken soup is good when you are sick. However, since it was Cindy's chicken that was sick, that seemed a little innappropriate.
So I am bringing lemon poppy seed muffins. I thought that we could pick out some of the seeds to give to the chickens.

Ok. You and Flowergal36 are showing my puny little chicken up BIG time. You both have made SUPAH ADORABLE chicken cards! Baaaawwwwk! I love your creativity with taking the photo and making a template, and I love that quilled flower you sent Dawn that she used on her card. You have so much talent inside ya, girl! I think we should bring the tea party to your house one of these days and you can show us how to quill and sprinkle some of your creativity onto us (well, me, anyway----Lord knows I need some).
Didja see that I posted your tea party pin on my blog? I love it! It's so dang cute.
I think you could teach some other CEOs about the proper priorities in life, too!
Oh, by the way, Bertie's bringing m & m chocolate covered chicken eggs to the party. They are the cure for whatever ails you, including chicken pox!

Bawwkkk! Bawwkkk! Bawkkkk!! Snort!
OMG! What a great card Ms. McGiver! I absolutely love this awesome card! You are so creative even when government officials are on your trail! I betcha your government agent got sidetracked and is headed to the barn! Headed to our tea party!
I got a call from the Center for Disease Control! They are sending some CDC officials our way cuz they got wind of a gathering of sick chicks, all with a strange chicken~chicken pox! MaryAnn is spiking the tea to get the government officials happy, take their mind of their work and when our party is over, we will send them on to you for the audit! He'll be happy at that point and you can talk him into anything. You can even put some jeans and a t-shirt back on, he won't pay no never mind! Giggle!
Thanks for sharing what's happening in your life today! Yikes! I can't wait to get a hold of a poppy seed muffin, do I have to share the seeds with the chickens? They are such piggies!!! Thanks for the link too! You rock girlrfriend!!!

Well, isn't this this one good looking chicken! Bet she was a ribbon winner at the fair. With all the good food you bring to the tea parties It seems you are a very good cook as well as a very creative paper crafter.

I'm back. I need yer help. Please read my post on MaryAnnK's schnockered chicks card. Is making two cards for a tea party a regular occurrence or should the auditor be takin' special note?

MariLynn - this is just adorable. There are some awesome chickents struttin' around out there. However, I looked all around and didn't see any muffins. I was hungry, so I ate some carrot sticks. Somehow it just wasn't the same.

I had a bet with myself that you could use that great photo you used for the challenge yesterday, or something like it. And you did - to perfection.
I may have forgotten to bring my purse with my money and cards in it when I went shopping, but I didn't forget to wear my little teapot pin to the party today.

Oooh MariLynn, this is beautiful. What marvelous crafting once more, outdoing yourself again! Love how you worked all this wonderful chicken! Love it. See ya at the poppy seed feeding. Are we allowed to keep our seeds on some of them. I just loved them. TFS

This is so adorable, MariLynn! Super cute and ultra creative, as usual! Love your dotted chichen! What a great take on Cindy's tea pot! Hope the auditor finally came so you can sit and relax and enjoy some tea! The muffins sound yummy! Hope I'm not too late to try one!

LOL I think Charlene needs some sleep. She is punchy today.. I love this card. What a fantastic idea. It is such a great card for this party.. It must have been rough thinking cardmaking while waiting for the "authorities". Don't send them to the tea party. They will wonder what all the clucking is about..

Oh that is one stately presidential hen to match her owner, hee! Look at Ms. Hen's shapely form and her googly eye! And her perfectly dotted feathers! This is so awesome, and when the auditor decides to show him up, send the Hen out to ruffle his feathers a bit!
