I am so glad I got my power back this a.m. so I could play along with this challenge! (We had massive thunderstorms with hail and 2 1/2 inches of rain last night. We just got back our power this a.m.) Wow! Was this ever a challenge! Emily challenged us to use white and one other color on your card and only one layer. I think I did it if my sentiment panel doesn't count as a layer. If not, the challenge police will be after me I am afraid. If I could only use one color, I just had to add some texture and texture around that sentiment just wouldn't look right. Anywho...
I used the "Love" stampset from Our Daily Bread Designs. I embossed it in gold for one more color and to add some elegance. I then embellished my card with a butterfly dry embossed with soft swirls and the textile die from Cuttlebug and some Hero Arts pearls (available at ODBD). The butterfly was cut using SU Sizzix Butterfly die. The accents around the sentiment is using the Floral Accents Shapeabilities from Spellbinders. The sentiment is diecut from the Labels 4 set (Available at Our Daily Bread Designs), my favorite nestabilities set.
I hope you like it. This is one of many anniversary cards to be sent to the troops that they in turn can send to their families back home.
