I just learned about the Midnight Madness Challenge today and was delighted to be able to participate this week. What a great sketch! You can check out this weekly challenge here: http://priscillastyles.blogspot.com.
It was easier to eek out the time to make this card than the uber difficulty I had not embellishing it! I decided to use this sketch for my dad's birthday card and masculine cards aren't always my forte.
Being the magpie that I am, I still had to add something shiny to it, so I used gold embossing powder on a Proterra cardstock which is somewhere between burgandy and eggplant in color. I wrapped a sponge in tulle and randomly sponged with Versamark, then embossed it in gold to get the textured effect. These strips served as the two diagonal panels, over which I layered my main image panel. I colored the image with gel pens and shadow stamped the sentiment with clear embossing powder. I wrapped fine gold cord around the brads to finish the border and am calling it a card.
I bought this stamp set used, so I don't know the name of it. But the inside message has 3 check boxes which read:
_ Complex
_ Full Bodied
_ Better with Time
Hope Dad doesn't think it's too sparkly as he's not really into that kind of thing! And I hope you like it!
Thanks for looking and thanks for my first Midnight Madness Challenge!

Incredible Divine Ms M! I must remember that tulle technique. The results are amazing. This is really a gorgeous card and one any dad would be proud to receive from his darling daughter. I love it.

Dad will love it, he is way more tolerant than I am and I like it. But then I enjoy all of those chick flix you ask me to watch, except maybe that one about somebody trying to find their groove. Stella Who? The card is very good, as was the previous one with the bees, but don't tell any of the guys that I said so. And what is this with Fridays and Mondays, sometimes it seems like you like to keep me just a little off balance. Is that so we will be equal, which will never happen 'cause you are way superior. If for no other reason than the fact that you are female.

This is beautiful M!!!! I love that sentiment seeing as how I love my wine you know. If that old saying is true "you are what you eat" or in this case drink, then hopefully I will age to perfection too.
