I used the retired set Kids At Play to make a card for my son's teacher and his aide. My son, Brandon, has autism and his teacher and 1:1 aide have been absolutely fantastic with him this year! We are so blessed to have them in our life. His 1:1 aide was with him for the last 2 years and hopefully she can return for him next year too. His teacher was new this year and it was her 1st year teaching. She did a remarkable job! I'm also going to make another one of these for his tutor who comes 2x week to help with my son's homework. She's really opened doors for him that have been shut for a long time.
I cut some of the denim paper for the shorts and shoes in the yellow and blue card and the b/g paper for the shorts and shoes in the orange and brown card.
It was fun making just a "fun" children's card for a change.
Thanks for taking the time to look and if you have a quick moment to comment, I'd appreciate it!

Yea Pam, glad you're back! I've missed seeing new uploads from you. I've been away for a bit, also. Maybe we'll get something done now. These are the cutest cards and I know Brandon's teacher and aide will love them. Good thing you are making another for the tutor because it sounds as if she is working hard and successfully with him. These kinds of cards always make a person know they are so appreciated and important in someone's life. Love the denim on the one card. Both are cute as can be.

Pam: Cute, cute cards! Love the paper piecing with the denim. You are most fortunate to have such wonderful folks to aid Brandon. (But then again, people usually get what they give. So that in itself speaks volumes for you!)'
How thoughtful of you to extend thanks in such a warm and personal way. tsmfs

Hey, there you are, pam! I see your back with a flourish with these adorable images and papers! I wasnt aware your son has autism: a special child given to special parents. Brandon is just as fortunate to have wonderful teachers as the teachers are to have you. They'll love these cards, Pam.
Is Brandon your only child?

Great to see you back - and in fine form! These are simply wonderful - love the paper piecing... I can tell you from the heart how much it means to receive something special like this from a student and/or their family. I have a couple of cards and a few special little gifts that I received from students I worked with as a TA that I will always treasure. So glad that you have had a good year and that your son has had some new doors opened for him... I know I was always as excited as the parents of my students when we had those 'break-through' moments... {{{Hugs to you!}}}
