My brother calls himself "The Bass King" (he even makes his own lures), so this stamp I bought at last year's stamp convention worked perfectly for his birthday card. Here's the link to the stamp:
This was made with colored pencils (Prisma and Koh-i-noor) and gamsol. Internet photos of Largemouth Bass were used for a coloring guide. I'm very happy with the result but I don't know if I could duplicate it - I had over 20 color pencils on my desk by the time I finished. Whew!
The image was stamped again where only the fishing rod and three lures were colored. The bass panel was cut out and the opening was used as a template to locate the area of the "recessed window" for the Bass image on the Old Olive card front. See TLC206 here for the directions: Forums at Splitcoaststampers The "rod and three lures" panel was then adhered over the opening.
The image was stamped a third time to color the single lure (that the Bass is striking) and create the blue shading background around Bass. The Bass portion of the image was cut out for the panel that rests inside the recessed window. The colored Bass was then cut out and popped up with dimensionals over the Bass image.
The finished size is 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 inches.

Wow, great job, Linda. The fish looks ready to jump off the card! Great how to instructions also. That link to the stamp store site was a little enabling, don't you think!! lol

WOW love what you did with the recessed window. My friend Karen KMK24 just showed me how to do this, but you took it to a whole new level. The coloring is incredible and I like that stamp.
