I designed this birthday card for this week’s Inspiration Challenge 180—to design a card inspired by a home office makeover featured in Country Living Magazine (http://www.countryliving.com/homes/m...makeover-0109). I was quite taken with the featured wallpaper and used that as my inspiration.
All of the patterned paper was hand-stamped. The main image was paper-pieced. For the rose leaves, I tried to capture the shade of chartreuse in the leaves of the wallpaper by sponging multiple layers of yellow and apple green ink on white cardstock. I don’t think I quite “got” the right shade, but I was pleased with the resulting depth and texture (which is much more noticeable in real life than in this photo).
This was my first inspiration challenge and I have to say that I was amazed at how much easier it was to put together my idea for the card with such a lovely inspiration! IÂ’m sure IÂ’ll play along again soon.
Thanks for looking!
