This is another one of the cards that I made for Mother' Day this year. This card was inspired by a couple of different cards in the May Stampin' Success magazine for SU! demonstators. The layout and ribbon treatment were inspired by Shannon Bracken's Praying For You card on page 20, I love how she used the Top Note die and inserted the ribbon through it. The butterfly was inspired by Annette Stewart's WOW! Art File card on page 30, I love the look of the layered butterflies from the Beautiful Butterflies die.
I used a combo of kraft, black, and pink pirouette for the colors. For the background of the card front, I used a piece of the pin stripe paper in the Taste of Textiles pack. I wanted just a subtle pattern that wouldn't detract from the top note panel, and this paper was perfect!
On the Top Note panel I stamped the rose from Fifth Avenue Floral in black and pink pirouette (it is really hard to see in the picture). I cut out the inner part of the kraft Top Note and layered over the black Top Note.
For the butterfly, I used the Beautiful Butterflies die with my Big shot. The large butterfly is pink pirouette cs, the smaller butterfly is made from some of the Bella Rose DSP. I sponged the edges of each butterfly with black ink. I adhered the butterflies in the centers and left the wings free from each other. I adhered the butterflies to the card front with dimensionals. The half-pearls are from the Pretties Kit and are adhered with sticky strip ( I hate waiting for glue to dry).
I used the horizontal slot punch to insert the ribbon through the Top Note die. I used the white organza ribbon for this card, but I died it using some pink pirouette reinker and water in a cup.
Thanks for looking!
