Here's my entry for this week's MFT Idol Challenge...An Amelia Earhart-themed travel set.
I can't believe we're down to only FOUR contestants now! It's starting to get stressful! Thank you to everyone who has voted and kept me in the game this far. I hope you'll continue to vote, because I definitely need you to!
This week's challenge was a toughie for me. We had to make something that celebrated "inspirational women" and that included the colors pink and brown. Well, I'm not a huge pink fan. It's okay--just not my favorite. And on top of that, the majority of MFT stamps that I own weren't screaming out "inspirational woman" to me (unless you consider a woman who rakes leaves or takes a bath an inspiration!) ;) I thought about making yet another mother's day project but figured that the voters might be getting tired of those by now. And I *really* wanted to use the "Think Pink" Breast Cancer set, but I didn't own it :(
I finally realized that I had the perfect set for this challenge. In fact, it was one that the owner of MFT had gifted to the contestants a few weeks back. I finally decided on an Amelia Earhart themed travel set. Who is more inspirational than a woman with ideas before her time? And even better, to help us with the pink and brown aspect, the owner also gifted us some digital paper files for us to print our own patterned paper. I had never printed my own paper, so I was scared (but excited!) to try it out. So all the patterned paper (and fabric!) I used was courtesy of MFT.
