This week's challenge was "Frame It." That's it. How's that for vague? I can usually come up with an idea pretty quickly, but I *struggled* big time this week. I had about 100 ideas in my head, but none of them passed the "Kathy test." I went to the craft store for a little inspiration, and a lot of dead ends later (I literally re-started my project SIX times this week), here's what I came up with. A Mother's Day collection, a la MFT. (remember to click on all the pics in the gallery or to pop on over to my blog!)
First, a card for mom. I didn't go crazy with layers for this card, because I wanted the main image and the frame to really be the stars. I paper-pieced the image and applied Glossy Accents to the plant and pot portions (and popped up parts of it with pop dots). For the frame, I simply looped some *awesome* Basic Grey "ribbon" around the image and tacked it in the corners with pearl brads.
Supplies:
Stamps: MFT's Happy Mother's Day
Papers: all DP by Crate Paper (LOVE this new line!), cream cardstock
Inks: Memento Black
Accessories: pearl brads by Making Memories, pop dots, Glossy Accents, ribbon by Basic Grey
I hope that you enjoy this and that you'll consider voting for me this week! The vote starts at 10pm EST tonight (April 2 in the MFT forum and continues for 24 hours.
