I made this card for two challenges. The first challenge was yesterday's WT215 challenge to use white cardstock. Only white cardstock and a small black bead were used on my card. The color came from chalks, ink, makers and water color paint. The other challenge was the Stampinb's inspiration challenge found here:
I didn't have any crane type images so I decided to quill a crane. My first time doing an animal so don't be too critical of her. I quilled her and while she was still pinned to my quilling board, I took water color paint and painted her beak, head, legs and tail. She was still too white, so I used gray and light brown chalk to add some color to her. I glued a black glass bead for her eye. I stamped the grass with 2 different green inks and a brown ink. I stamped off the ink to add extra variance. The water and sky were both blue chalk. I used blue, green, and black markers and a ruler to go around the panels. The top panel is up on dimensionals.
My first thought when I looked at my finished card was "I wonder if birds walk around and ask other birds do you think this makes my butt look big?" If they do, then someone better tell this crane that hers is really big.
What do you think?

MariLynn, this is fabulous for both challenges - is there such a thing as a butt that is too big - it all depends on perspective...as we saw in Madegasca...Gloria was 'CHUN-KY!' and that was cool!!! Her butt is fine, gorgeous and innovative even - well done girl....thanks for sharing!

I like big butts and I can not lie, you other brothers can't deny...
ooops, sorry. It is just such a catchy tune, I could help myself. I love the crane's butt!! It is perfect.
Have you seen this? I've watched it many times, and it is still fun.

You are just too smart...making your own crane. I just had to go with something that didn't resemble a crane...at all. Great job on this card!
