I made this card for today's Gesso Resist (TLC21) and yesterday's featured stampers challenge FS115 casing Jamie (Jaymerz). Jamie had a lot of awesome cards or projects but I loved the layout found here http:Pieced Witches by jaymerz at Splitcoaststampers
I kept her basic layout and some of her colors but changed how I did the ribbon, image, sentiment, and used gesso resist to create my designer paper.
When I was looking for magazine paper or newsaper articles that I could use to create my background the only text I found in columns so I hardly thought that was appropriate. It kind of made me feel eery to use, so I used Imaginesce- Just imagine DP instead since it was a heavy cardstock and perfect for priming with gesso. I primed until the flowers were opaque and then clear embossed the Brocade Basics on the entire background and sponged pink pirouette and pretty in pink to highlight the embossing. I love the dp it created!! I will definitely use this technique again. Hopefully I can use a newspaper or magazine article that is not an obituary next time.
The image is Burt and Emily from Spiral Whisper which I colored with gamsol and layered for a 3d effect.
